Over the course of an intense five year time span beginning in 1825, David Walker was a significant force in the freedom struggles of Black Bostonians during the early nineteenth century. In 1829, he published An Appeal to the Colored Citizens of the World, a document unlike any other anti-slavery, pro-justice treatise of the antebellum period.
BSAE
The BSAE (Brothers Seeking Academic Excellence) is a group of black and latino high school students from Buckingham Browne and Nichols School, located in close proximity to Harvard. The group was created as a result of a study conducted at the school which showed that black and latino young men were leaving the school at a much higher rate than other students as a result of poor academic performance.
