Gentlemen
First, let me apologize for allowing so much time to pass before this
correspondence.
I am writing to inform you all that we have set the date for this year's BMF
Alumni Weekend. The event will take place on the last weekend of April,
Friday April 27 to Sunday April 29 in New York City. The specifics of the
weekend have yet to be fully established, but the vision for the event is
the following:
Friday Morning: BMF undergraduates depart from Harvard
Friday Afternoon: BMF undergraduates arrive in NYC, link up with a couple of
BMF Alumni where they can drop off bags. Once everything is settled, BMF
undergraduates visit a museum (TBD)
Friday Evening: BMF undergraduates meet up with available BMF Alumni at a
Restaurant TBD (informal type of event)
Saturday Morning: Sleeping in...
Saturday Afternoon: *Main Event: *A Lunch event at a location TBD in which
we will have a larger number of alumni. The first part of the event will be
a mix and mingle. After this, there will be a lunch and the more formal
program will begin. This will consist of the speaking of the current
President, and perhaps a couple past Presidents. The final aspect of the
formal program will be a presentation on the BMF Endowment and the
importance of a strong alumni-undergraduate network.
Saturday Evening: BMF Members and Alumni go out in NYC (Club or something
more informal--considering that there are members who are under-21)
Sunday Morning: BMF Undergraduates board bus to return to Harvard
This is a very rough sketch of what things would look like. With this in
mind, I wanted to inform you guys so that you could pencil it into your
various schedules, but also so that you could help me spread the word to
alumni with whom I do not have a personal relationship. I would love to see
this be a huge event in which we bring back BMF members from every year.
Let me know what you all think. My thesis is due in two weeks, thus no
major moves will be made until that time. Thanks a lot for being on board.
Seven,
Chas Hamilton
BMF President 2006-2007
